We know that those impacted by infected blood have waited too long for compensation.

We’re trying to make the service as simple and fair as possible to support you through the process. That’s why we’re opening the compensation service up to a small number of people first, so we can learn and improve before we invite larger groups to claim.

How long the compensation scheme will run

You’ll be able to make a claim until 31 March 2031 if you were diagnosed before 1 April 2025. Anyone diagnosed after 1 April 2025 will be able to make their claim for 6 years after their diagnosis.
