Documents you might need
If you’re registered with an existing support scheme, we’ll use the information they have about you. We’ll only ask you for extra information if there’s anything missing that we need, such as how severe your infection is or when you were diagnosed.
We’ll also need to verify your identity so we know we’re talking to the right person.
If you are not registered with an IBSS, we might need some documents to help us work out what compensation you can get. If you’re infected, these might include:
- documents that will help us verify your identity
- medical records
- records of any employment
- details about any care you received
If you’re a partner, family member or carer to an infected person, we may need some extra information. The details of what this might be are still being finalised.
We know that many people’s records have been lost or damaged. We’ll work with you to make sure you can still get the compensation you’re entitled to.
