You’ll be eligible for compensation if your child was infected, and you lived with and cared for them for at least 1 year before they turned 18. This applies whether you are their parent through:
- birth
- adoption
- being a step-parent
- acting as a parent, such as a grandparent
If your child was infected under the age of 18
