Get an estimate of your compensation
Use this to find out how much compensation you may be entitled to from the Infected Blood Compensation Scheme.
This calculator is in line with the Infected Blood Compensation Scheme Regulations 2025 for infected people and their estates.
About your estimate
Your compensation estimate is not a formal offer or part of your claim.
It is based on your answers here - it does not use your medical records. The more accurate your answers, the closer the estimate will be to your final compensation.
Who this is for
We can estimate your compensation if you were infected by contaminated blood, blood products or tissue from the NHS. This means
- direct infections through NHS treatment
- indirect infections from a partner or someone you were living with who had treatment
- other indirect infections, such as from mother to child or a needlestick injury
You can also get an estimate if you are:
- acting for a living infected person
- representing an estate of an infected person who has died
If you're a partner, family member or carer of someone who was infected, we cannot estimate your compensation at the moment. But now the regulations for affected people have been announced, we will soon update our calculations so you can get an estimate.
Before you start
You’ll need the infected person's:
- personal details, like date of birth and sex
- infection details (for HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C)
- information about any conditions or treatments needed due to the infection (for Hepatitis B and C)
- payment amounts for any interim compensation, settlements or support scheme payments
You’ll need to complete your answers in one go - you cannot save and return to them. We will not store or share any of your answers.
