Register your intent to claim compensation

Use this form to register your intent to claim compensation from the Infected Blood Compensation Scheme.

Registrations typically take between 5 and 15 minutes, depending on your circumstances. You’ll need to complete your answers in one go - you cannot save and return to them. We will not share any of your answers.

Who can register

You can register to claim compensation if:

  • you're an infected person or their representative
  • you're an affected person or their representative
  • you have legal authority to act on behalf of a deceased infected person - or you represent someone with legal authority

If you're representing a deceased affected person, you cannot register at the moment. Once the regulations for deceased affected people have been finalised, we will update the service so you can register.

Before you start

You’ll need:

  • your personal details, like date of birth
  • your contact details
  • for infected claims - the infection type and any conditions or treatments needed due to the infection
  • for indirect infections - details of the person you were infected by, like name and date of birth
  • for affected claims - the infected person's name, date of birth and, if you know it, their IBCA claim number or registration number
  • for deceased infected claims - the infected person's details, like name and infection type
You will not need to provide any supporting documents, like medical records, in your registration.

If you're unable to register online, or would like help completing your registration, call us on 0141 471 8886. We can then arrange for our team to support you with your registration.
